Welcome to CalPal AI ("we," "our," or "us"). CalPal AI is developed by GoodLife Studios. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, CalPal AI (the "App"). Please read this privacy policy carefully. This information is essential for creating your user profile within the App, customizing your app experience, and enabling the core functionalities of CalPal AI, including personalized recommendations from our AI Dietician feature and insights from our Analytics feature. • Profile and Onboarding Information: Your name (optional), date of birth, gender, height, weight, activity level, dietary preferences, and health goals. (Note: User accounts in CalPal AI are not tied to email addresses, and we do not collect or store passwords.)
• Calorie and Activity Tracking Data: We may collect information about your food intake or the food data you log into the App for improving the recommendations for you
• AI Dietician Interaction Data: Questions you ask the AI Dietician and the advice or information provided in return. This may include sensitive health information if you choose to share it. This interaction data is sent to third-party AI models for processing to provide you with dietary advice and is not stored on our (CalPal AI's) servers.

Usage Data

When you use the App, we automatically collect certain Usage Data linked to your device or user profile within the app. This includes your IP address, device operating system, access times, and your interactions with features within the App (e.g., feature usage frequency, buttons clicked). This data is crucial for operating the App, providing technical support, ensuring the security of our services, and is also used to generate anonymized and aggregated statistics for our Analytics feature to improve our services and user experience.

Device Data

We may collect Device Data, such as your mobile device ID, model, and manufacturer. This information is used for app functionality, security, troubleshooting, and can contribute to the anonymized and aggregated data used in our Analytics feature.

2. How We Use Your Information

Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you via the App to:

• Create and manage your user profile within the App based on your onboarding details.
• Provide personalized calorie tracking and dietary recommendations through our AI Dietician, tailored to your profile and goals.
• Customize the App experience based on your onboarding details and preferences.
• Generate Analytics and insights about your health and fitness progress.
• Monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve your experience with the App.
• Notify you of updates to the App.
• Respond to your comments, questions, and provide customer support.
• Compile anonymized and aggregated statistical data and analysis for use internally or with third parties for the Analytics feature, to improve the App.
• Prevent fraudulent transactions, monitor against theft, and protect against criminal activity.
• Request feedback and contact you about your use of the App.
• Resolve disputes and troubleshoot problems.
• Comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

3. Disclosure of Your Information

We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations. Your information may be disclosed as follows:

• AI Model Providers: To provide the AI Dietician feature, we send your queries (which might include health data you input) to third-party AI model providers for processing. As stated above, we do not store this interaction data on our servers. We aim to use providers that have strong data protection practices.
• Aggregated or Anonymized Data: We may share anonymized and aggregated information that does not directly identify you with third parties for research, Analytics, or other purposes.
• Business Transfers: We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
• With Your Consent: We may disclose your personal information for any other purpose with your consent.

We do not sell your personal information.

Information you send to the AI Dietician feature is processed by third-party AI models, and while we select these providers carefully, we do not control their specific security measures beyond our contractual agreements.

We will retain your Personal Data (such as profile, onboarding, and tracking data) stored on our servers only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, including providing you with a customized experience. We will retain and use your information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies. As mentioned, interaction data with the AI Dietician is not stored on our servers.
