This Privacy Policy describes how Gita-Gram ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use our mobile application, Gita-Gram (the "App").

Please note that while this data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols, we do not store the content of these conversations on our servers once processed by the AI.
Community Interaction & Prayer Data: Any content you post, share, or upload in the "Live community interaction and prayer section," including text, images, or other media, will be collected and may be visible to other users of the App. Please be mindful of what you share publicly.
Journal Entries: If you use the journal feature in the "Today" section, the content of your private journal entries will be collected and stored securely. This data is private to your account and not shared with others.
Feedback and Support: If you contact us for support or provide feedback, we will collect the information you provide in your communication, such as your email address and the content of your message.

1.2. Information We Collect Automatically:

Device Information: We may collect information about the mobile device you use to access the App, including the hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
Usage Information: We collect information about your activity on the App, such as the features you use, the time and date of your visits, and how you interact with the App's content. This may include:
- Which sections of the App you visit (e.g., "Today," "Study Gita," "Meditate").
- How long you spend on certain features (e.g., meditation sessions, reading verses).
- Your language preferences for studying the Gita.
- Crash reports and performance data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for various purposes, including to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the App's features and functionality.
Personalize your experience, such as delivering relevant daily verses or affirmations.

With Third-Party AI Services: When you use the "Chat with Krishna" feature, your chat input is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate responses. As mentioned, this data is encrypted in transit. We select reputable AI partners.
With Other App Users: Content you post in the "Live community interaction and prayer section" (e.g., messages, images) will be visible to other users of the App. Your username may also be displayed alongside your public contributions.
With Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party vendors, consultants, and other service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, analytics, crash reporting, and customer support. These service providers are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us.

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by Gita-Gram. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. We strongly advise you to read the terms and conditions and privacy policies of any third-party websites or services that you visit.

Specifically, as noted, the "Chat with Krishna" feature relies on a third-party AI provider. While we strive to work with providers that adhere to high privacy standards, we are not responsible for their data handling practices beyond the point of secure transmission from our App.

5. Data Retention

We retain the information we collect for as long as necessary to provide the services you have requested, or for other essential purposes such as complying with our legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our policies.

Chat with Krishna Data: As noted, we do not store the content of your "Chat with Krishna" conversations on our servers. The third-party AI provider may have its own retention policies.
Journal Entries: Your journal entries are retained on our secure servers for as long as your account is active, to allow you to access them.
Community Content: Content posted in the community section will remain visible and retained until you delete it or your account is terminated, subject to our terms of service and content policies.

6. Security of Your Information

We take reasonable measures, including administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, to protect your information from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no internet or email transmission is ever fully secure or error-free. Please keep this in mind when disclosing any information to us via the internet.

Your "Chat with Krishna" data is encrypted in transit to the third-party AI service, enhancing its security during transmission.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You may have certain rights regarding your personal information, depending on your jurisdiction. These may include:

Access and Correction: You may be able to access and update certain account information directly within the App settings.
Deletion: You may request the deletion of your account and associated personal data. Please note that some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
Opt-Out of Communications: You may opt-out of receiving promotional communications from us by following the instructions in those communications or by contacting us.
Managing Public Content: You can typically delete or edit content you have posted in the community sections directly within the App.

We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this Privacy Policy.
